We send you our specially developed Starter Pack, which contains images of different design styles and a questionnaire that we use to get a sense of your décor preferences.
We view your space during an in-home visit, study your existing furniture and thoroughly consult with you to understand how you envision your dream home.
We research items that you will need for your home according to your favorite design preferences, lifestyle and budget.
We present you with three choices of décor. We create 3 different, complete visual presentations that suit your taste and illustrate how your home will look once the makeover is complete. The design boards are yours and are beautifully presented with a rendering, paint swatches, fabric samples and pictures of all the suggested furniture, rugs, window treatment, lighting, color schemes etc. detailed with vendor and pricing information.
Your new décor is completely installed over the course of one day. Our installation experts do everything from assembling furniture to hanging windows treatments, light fixtures, mirrors and frames to cleaning up at the end of the day. There are no extra of hidden charges for installation.
How did we come up with the idea ? In 2003 founder and head designer Elfya Van Muylem was juggling jobs as a designer’s assistant to house beautiful’s ‘top 100’ decorator Miles Redd in New York and as a designer on TV shows for HGTV and the Oxygen channel
Surveying the design scene of either ‘instant home makeover’ projects on TV or high-end exclusive contracts, Elfya saw there was a huge gap in the interior design service market that needed to be filled – a service that was completely new and unique.
In 2005 Elfya founded home refiner and developed the one day home makeover potion to make quality interior design accessible and affordable.
With a team of design professionals and craftspeople, home refiner creates moods, maximizes space and functionality, and finds new, unexpected uses for familiar objects. “We do it with the commitment to quality, a sense of humor, and the realization that every project is distinctive, every job just more than just a makeover.
